About Us

Our barbecue story started way before there was a barbecue story.


Growing up in an Italian household where the focal point of the house and family events centered around food, Paul Iorio always loved food and being around food.
It was at his first job in a local steak house where he learned to cook and realized his passion for cooking, grilling and barbecuing.


The Crooked Creek story began years later when in 2015, Paul decided to take his love of cooking professional and began catering events and running concessions at various events in New York.

It was during this time that Paul enlisted the volunteer services of his wife, Diane, who willingly helped out as she was very familiar with customer service, having held various positions where that was an integral part of her roles in these positions.


Their son Jeffrey also developed an early interest in the food industry as his first two jobs while in high school and college involved preparing and serving food in two different establishments. That, in addition to his natural inquisitive nature, strong work ethic and desire to help out whenever needed, made him another ideal volunteer candidate to help out with the early inception of the business.

 

After catering and doing concessions for a number of years, it was decided that the Crooked Creek offering would be expanded to include bottled barbecue sauce and dry rub. It was at this time that Crooked Creek Barbecue LLC was formed with Paul, Diane and Jeffrey as owners and operators of the business.

 

Crooked Creek Barbecue is truly a labor of love as it was born out of the love of barbecue and a passion to make people happy.
